YEAR 1
Learners in first year are introduced to career possibilities in Fashion industry. They are trained in basic knowledge and skills of drawing, pattern making, cutting and sewing. Textile studies, Computer Application and Communication Skills form the basis of Design learning.

YEAR 2
Advanced Design skills like Fashion Illustration, Pattern Drafting, Draping, Garment Construction and CAD form an important part of the curriculum. This course is for the inquisitive /curious minded students who would like to work and grow in the profession of Interior design. With a focus on technical skills, the curriculum aims at teaching the students the essentials and the process of Interior Design. Students work on project based exercises with the learning and understanding of interior space planning; develop technique for Drawing, Documentation and Communication; Interior Design Project Execution and Coordination. The program encourages students to get hands-on learning in the wood, metal and construction labs by undertaking workshop projects and apply the skills in live projects, onsite and on projects in industry.

Course Content

YEAR 1
Students start with a three month combined design foundation in which they work on concepts of visual communication, design elements and principles, which leads to the comprehension and interaction with space and form. Students also learn basic software skills and exploration in materials.

YEAR 2
Introduction to Interior Design includes exploring the, principles and elements, of design processes; residential space planning, kitchen design, and furniture arrangement fundamentals with emphasis on design drawings and professional presentation form. Materials and Textiles Overview of Specifications, Relative Costs, Performance properties and installation methods of materials; including textiles used in interior design, are also an integral parts of the course.

YEAR 3
Students investigate the design of healthcare, institutional, hospitality, retail, office environments, and identify basic historical exterior styles. Sustainable Design Discussions of environmental movements, Designer responsibility, legislation and application of lighting fixtures are an important part of the course. Students will integrate sustainable strategies to develop design solutions for a variety of small-scale projects. Industry orientation is provided to the students by participating in industry projects and through an integrated four month Internship.

Fashion Design path includes all the segmentations across genders and age group. This course enables students to achieve competencies in both design and construction with the use of advance technologies. Fashion Design Accessories path includes conceptualization, design and manufacture of bags, shoes another fashion accessories that complements a look. This 11 months professional program is designed for professionals who have a penchant for creativity, style and originality. The course helps the student to develop an understanding of Fashion environment and trains them to develop a Fashion range/product for a targeted market segment towards the end of Course. The learning is divided in two semesters. Students are able to achieve detailed knowledge to develop a concept for the end product in first semester including fabric analysis, research and technical skills.
